chiri-tsubo a hole where fallen leaves are to be dusted originally, nowadays not for a practical use.
daime-bashira a post which stands at the corner by a fireplace in daime- giri style, a type of the way of making a fireplace in the floor; the fireplace is to be located one the spot of the mat next to temae-za, the place on which a host will be seated.
furosaki-mado a window on the wall nearby the fireplace (furo-saki), for letting light to the spot where host does tea ceremony or moderate the temperature around the fireplace.
hibari-dana a tiny shelf installed at the place where the host is to seated for putting small articles.
nijiri-guchi a small entrance to a tea-ceremony room for guests, solely in the case of ko-ma, a room smaller than 4.5-mat width.
