The client of this house is my younger bother
who is a painter of acrylic drawings. It
is rebuilt from our parent's house where
both of us were brought up. When he decided
to rebuilt the house and consulted with me,
we just wanted to leave something of our
good old memories.
So, this old well, which had been forgotten
and left actually beneath the floor for a
long time, became a symbolic object of this
project in the end. We carefully planned
and decided to locate it at the corner of
comfortable multipurpose patio. We even put
up the old-fashioned hand-push pump on it
for making its smart re-debut! Now, it is
not so difficult for me to imagine many of
his friends and family members would appreciate
it, as well, especially on a clear summer
day.
The patio with lattice verandah provides
flexibility of the house creating a new comfortable
life-style, diversifying the purpose of use
of the space for a living room, a dining
room, a workshop or just relaxation. |
